Bind an element property to data

Connect a displayed property to the correct data scope.

Before you begin

• An open page in the HTML Editor with the relevant element selected.

Select the exact element

Select the element whose property you want to change, then open Properties. For a repeated table, select the body cell inside the repeat, not the table heading or outer container.

Open the property data picker

Find the property and click its dynamic data picker. For table text, use Text, or Inner Text when a dynamic text binding already exists. Controls without a data picker do not all support dynamic binding in the same way.

Choose a value in the correct scope

Expand the data source in the picker. Inside productRows, choose the current item’s name to show a different name in each row; outside a repeat, choose a value from the page component. Confirm the expression and apply the selection.

Check a changed value

Preview the page and check the result. Change the source value or load another record to verify that the binding updates. If every row shows the same value, reselect the cell and choose the field under the repeat scope instead of a fixed record from the original array.

Check your result

The property displays the selected value and changes when that value changes.
