Execute one branch after evaluating a server expression.
Execute one branch after evaluating a server expression.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- An open Server Connect action. Runtime differences below refer to the installed Node.js and PHP implementations.
Condition
Section titled “Condition”Execute one branch after evaluating a server expression.
Settings and execution
Section titled “Settings and execution”| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Condition | Evaluates the expression for truthiness. For example, count > 0 selects Then when the evaluated count is positive. Normalize incoming values before testing booleans: the non-empty string "false" is not the boolean false. |
| Then | The nested steps to run when the condition is truthy. |
| Else | Optional nested steps for a falsy condition. Omitting Else simply skips that branch. |
Worked example
Section titled “Worked example”After a query, test whether its result count is greater than zero. Put a Set Value named message with Value Found in Then and Value No records in Else, enabling Output on those Set Value steps. Test with both an empty and a non-empty result.
Check the behavior and limits
Section titled “Check the behavior and limits”A Condition does not return a new object containing its branches. Nested steps produce their own named outputs. Only one branch runs for a single evaluation.
Continue with a task
Section titled “Continue with a task”Use the Server Connect guides when you need the surrounding project, data-loading or form procedure.
Check your result
Section titled “Check your result”You can configure Condition deliberately and verify the result and failure behavior described in this reference.
