Define the server transport used by Send Mail.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- A Server Connect action and a dedicated test mail transport or capture service. Do not use production recipients for initial verification.

Settings
Section titled “Settings”| Setting | Meaning |

| Name | When editing a Mailer module, names the reusable transport configuration. In an action, the context-dependent selector loads an existing Mailer definition instead of showing every connection field. |
| Type | SMTP configures a remote SMTP transport. Server Default uses the server’s configured mail/sendmail mechanism; it does not create or configure that external service for you. |
| Host | SMTP server hostname. The rule/runtime fallback is localhost; replace it with the actual host required by your mail service. |
| Port | SMTP server port. The rule/runtime fallback is 25. Use the port and connection mode specified by the selected service. |
| Use SSL | Enables implicit TLS/SMTPS in these implementations. This is not a general certificate-verification switch. Match it to the SMTP service’s connection requirements rather than assuming every TLS-capable port uses implicit TLS. |
| User Name | The SMTP authentication user, if required by the transport. |
| Password | The SMTP authentication secret. Keep it in server-side configuration, not the page or returned action output. |
Verification example
Section titled “Verification example”Configure a dedicated test transport or mail-capture service. Select the Mailer from a Send Mail test action and inspect the composed message through that test transport. Verify connection/authentication failure handling before using a live mail service.
Transport and message limits
Section titled “Transport and message limits”Connection settings are target-specific. The installed Node.js setup disables TLS certificate rejection, and the PHP SMTP path also disables peer/name checks; Use SSL alone must not be described as strict certificate validation. Review deployment transport requirements separately. Editing the definition does not prove inbox delivery.
Place mail in the application flow
Section titled “Place mail in the application flow”Validate and authorize the triggering operation, compose the intended message, and report the actual success/error state to the page. File upload, record creation and email delivery are separate operations.
Check your result
Section titled “Check your result”You can configure the transport or message fields and verify composition and failure handling with a test transport.
