Create a ZIP archive from the contents of a server folder.

Setting Meaning
NameNames the returned saved path, metadata or comment for later steps. Extraction returns a success result rather than a new archive.
Zip FileThe complete application-relative server archive filename. For creation, prepare its writable parent directory first.
FolderThe server directory whose contents will be archived.
CommentOptional archive-level comment text.
RecursiveIncludes nested directories and their files when enabled. Default off. Verify the resulting archive structure.
OverwriteFor archive creation, allows replacing an existing ZIP; otherwise a unique name can be chosen. For UnZip, this exposed option is not honored as a protective gate in the installed implementations.
OutputIncludes the named returned path, entry list, comment or extraction result in the action response. Default off; this does not download the archive itself.

Use a test folder containing a file and a nested subfolder. Create one archive with Recursive off and another with it on. Read their entry lists and confirm the expected nested files are included only in the recursive case.

The chosen folder’s contents become the archive entries; this is not a backup of every external file referenced by your application. Inspect hidden-file and subfolder behavior on the deployed backend and avoid archiving an unrestricted project root.

Use the actual returned archive path after creation. Use File Download when a browser should receive it, and keep any private files behind a protected server action.

You can configure the archive operation and verify the intended entries, metadata or extracted files.
