UnZip Files — Reference
Extract a server ZIP archive into a destination directory.
Extract a server ZIP archive into a destination directory.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- A server with the required ZIP libraries and a dedicated test folder/archive. Authorize access to the source and destination paths.
UnZip Files
Section titled “UnZip Files”Extract a server ZIP archive into a destination directory.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name | Names the returned saved path, metadata or comment for later steps. Extraction returns a success result rather than a new archive. |
| Zip File | The complete application-relative server archive filename. For creation, prepare its writable parent directory first. |
| Destination | The application-relative server directory for extracted entries. Use an isolated empty directory when testing. |
| Overwrite | For archive creation, allows replacing an existing ZIP; otherwise a unique name can be chosen. For UnZip, this exposed option is not honored as a protective gate in the installed implementations. |
| Output | Includes the named returned path, entry list, comment or extraction result in the action response. Default off; this does not download the archive itself. |
Worked example
Section titled “Worked example”Use a trusted archive containing known test entries and a fresh, empty test destination. Extract, then compare the actual files and sizes with the archive listing.
Archive boundaries
Section titled “Archive boundaries”The installed Node.js and PHP paths do not apply the exposed Overwrite option as a reliable preservation switch. Use a fresh destination instead of relying on Overwrite off to protect existing files. Validate archive sources, entry paths and expanded size before extracting untrusted data.
Connect the file workflow
Section titled “Connect the file workflow”Use the actual returned archive path after creation. Use File Download when a browser should receive it, and keep any private files behind a protected server action.
Check your result
Section titled “Check your result”You can configure the archive operation and verify the intended entries, metadata or extracted files.
