Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- An appropriately configured Server Connect action and isolated test inputs.
Validate Data
Section titled “Validate Data”Evaluate configured server-side validation rules before continuing the action.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name | Identifies the validation step. Do not treat a populated step name as evidence that the rules passed. |
| Validate Options | Opens the validation editor for the values, rules and messages to check. Configure actual values and rules; an empty configuration does not infer requirements from a form automatically. |
Verification example
Section titled “Verification example”Configure a required email value and an email-format rule for the incoming value. Place validation before Database Insert. Test missing, malformed and valid input, and confirm that failures produce an HTTP 400 validation response while only valid input reaches the write.
Behavior and limits
Section titled “Behavior and limits”Validation is not authorization or automatic sanitization. Match form error field names to the page inputs when you need field-specific feedback. The normal failure path sends a response; use its status/error structure rather than assuming every invalid configuration returns a simple false value. The Node.js runtime has a noError option for boolean handling, but it is not exposed by this basic inspector.
Connect this step to the workflow
Section titled “Connect this step to the workflow”Place the check or file operation before the work that depends on it, then verify the final HTTP response and any resulting data or file changes.
Check your result
Section titled “Check your result”You can configure this operation and verify both its expected result and its failure boundary.
