Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”- An open Server Connect action. Runtime differences below refer to the installed Node.js and PHP implementations.
Organize nested steps and optionally collect their outputs under a name.
Settings and execution
Section titled “Settings and execution”| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name | When supplied, creates a named group result from the outputs of its nested steps. Without a name, nested steps execute in the surrounding output context. |
| Output | Includes the named group result in the enclosing response. Nested fields must also be output by their steps. Check the saved state: new groups initialize this switch on although the rule’s default is false. |
| Exec | The nested steps to execute in sequence. |
Worked example
Section titled “Worked example”Create Group named summary and enable Output. Inside it, add Set Value named total, Value 3 and Output on. The response should contain summary.total = 3. Disable the inner Output to see why naming the group alone does not expose every internal value.
Check the behavior and limits
Section titled “Check the behavior and limits”Grouping does not create a database transaction. Use Transaction for database work that must commit or roll back together.
Continue with a task
Section titled “Continue with a task”Use the Server Connect guides when you need the surrounding project, data-loading or form procedure.
Check your result
Section titled “Check your result”You can configure Group deliberately and verify the result and failure behavior described in this reference.
